4-5 December 2023, University of Malaga, Malaga (ES) – VIII International Conference on Translation “Horizons of Translation. Translating travels, adventures, experiences”

In the theme of translation as a travel between worlds and cultures, but also in the specular and inverse theme of the travel as translation of experiences of culture, and therefore in the broader sense of translation as transfer, that is, as cultural grafting or transplantation, Maximus the Greek with his life story and his work can be found in various ways. He was in fact a traveller-translator because of his life itinerary, his choice of life and his activity as a scholar and translator, through which he acted as a go-between, a “bridge”, between cultures. These were the themes of the talk “Maximus the Greek: an itinerary between East and West” that Francesca Romoli gave at the VIII International Conference on Translation.
