13 May 2024, HSE University, Moscow (RU) – Workshop “Innovations in the Orthodox culture of Muscovy and the Kievan metropolis in the 16th century”

On 13 May, Francesca Romoli took part in the workshop “Innovations in the Orthodox culture of Muscovy and the Kievan metropolis in the 16th century”, promoted by the HSE University’s Medieval Studies Laboratory as part of the cycle “Discussions on the middle Ages”. The aim of the workshop was to focus on the renewal of Orthodox culture between the 15th and 16th centuries. The main topic of discussion was the figure of Maximus the Greek in his role as an advocate for religious and more generally socio-cultural renewal. Within this framework, the project “HaximHum” was brought to the attention of the international scientific community with the talk “The humanistic factor in the life and work of Maximus the Greek: the project for a web-portal”.
